Dear Friends,
Please join me this Saturday February 4, 2012, for a Town Hall Meeting on the role of the Environmental Assessment Process. Hear from our panel of experts, ask questions and gain a better understanding of how potential risks and benefits of industrial projects are evaluated.
British Columbia currently faces several high profile projects including: Enbridge’s Northern Gateway Pipeline, Northwest Transmission Line, expansion of natural gas extraction and several controversial mining proposals. Industrial development projects impact the environment, as well as create jobs and wealth.
Hear from Dr. Glenn Wagner, Susan Wilkins and Anna Sundby, experts with more than 40 years combined experience in the field, about the current Environmental Assessment Process and whether it can reconcile society’s goals of economic development and environmental protection.
Date: February 4, 2012
Time: 10am – 12pm
Location: Jericho Arts Centre, 1675 Discovery Street (map)
(coffee, tea and baked goods will be provided)
Please RSVP to joyce.murray.c1@parl.gc.ca or call 604-664-9220.
Best regards,
