“On New Year’s Day we gather with friends and family to reflect on the past and to consider the possibilities that lie in the year to come.
The first day of 2012 provides us with that wonderful perspective of seeing the whole year ahead of us and recognizing its possibility for real change. That feeling is a privilege we afford ourselves today, and as the year unfolds we should work out of respect for that feeling. It is a day for optimism, expectation and hope.
