Last week, the City of Vancouver released a report outlining the dangers of closing the Kitsilano Station and calling for the Prime Minister to meet with the Mayor on this issue. At that time, the Mayor stated clearly that the city has neither the resources nor the mandate to fill the gap left by the Conservatives’ perilous decision. On Sept. 19, I asked the Prime Minister in the House of Commons to meet with the Mayor and hear why this closure must be reversed. You can read my question and the government’s response here.
Please click here to see the letter I wrote to Vancouver’s Mayor Robertson to support the City’s motion and calling on the Prime Minister to meet with the City of Vancouver and all Vancouver MPs to discuss these urgent safety concerns.
I have also introduced a motion in the House of Commons calling on the government to save this essential base.
But I need your help to make the government listen. Please click here to download a petition and add your voice to our campaign to Save the Kitsilano Coast Guard Base.
